Camping - Death Valley / Red Rock Canyon

All,

If you are receiving this link then it appears that you have been cordially invited to hang out with some really, really cool people. This event we are planning will be extreamly fun. So if you don’t want to have fun then please click the little red X at the top left of your screen. Still here? Great! So Martina and I discovered some wonderful campgrounds this past two weeks. We camped at Death Valley National Park and Red Rock Canyon National Park both are located at www.NPS.gov. We enjoyed a few days of hot days, warm nights and unbelievably clear evening skies. We were treated to amazing desert vista and yes, wild flowers. I have included a few pictures here so that you can get an idea of what you would be signing up for. We would basically be driving down to the campsite on a Friday morning and setup camp late afternoon. We plan to break camp and return home on Sunday morning after breakfast. The weekend will be full of Food, Drinks, Music, Guitars, Telescopes, Scary movies (Blair witch), Hiking, off roading *, Bon fires and Smores! If you don’t have any camping gear please email me and I can help to secure some for you. We have a good location to rent things like tents and sleeping bags but renting a sleeping back is kinda like renting someone’s underwear. It might just be best to pick up a cheap 40.00 bag and rent everything else if you need. We would need to have everyone confirm by this Thursday, 15April2010 (Tax Day). If you have any questions please post them here because someone else might have the same question.

Logistics:

1. If we get enough people we can rent a 9 passenger van/7 Passenger Van and split the cost.
2. We are planning to go Friday, 23April2010.
3. We are able to rent tents, sleeping bags etcetera.
4. Cell phones reception is 0 in both parks.
5. 4x4 Off Road rental jeeps are available for desert excursions. There are some wonderful day/night view spots that you can only reach in a high clearance vehicle.
6. As with anything bring your own alcohol and food.
7. Dogs are allowed in both sites (Thomas) hehehe.
8. Showers are not at the campgrounds but can be purchased for about 5.00 (very near the campgrounds)
9. It will take about 7 hours to get there (We need to leave early)!
10. YOU WILL HAVE FUN!
